Additional Background

Now the market leader, SpaceX almost failed during its original launch campaign to get the Falcon 1 - its first rocket - to orbit. After eventual success the company pivoted to the Falcon 9, a medium-launch vehicle that has since become the most reliable launch vehicle. The same Falcon 9 also pioneered landing of first stages - pushing the entire launch industry in that direction. The company provides services to both commercial and government customers, including satellite constellation operators, the US Department of Defense, and NASA.
