Inert payload expected. May include some experiments, demonstrators.
Certification-2 is a critical milestone for ULA, a long-standing launch services provider for United States national security launches. The flight profile will take it into Earth orbit, before a secondary firing of the second-stage will take it out of Earth orbit, and into its own orbit around the Sun.
Taking off 85 minutes into the launch window, the launch was successful overall, inserting the second-stage and inert payload into a trajectory out of Earth Orbit after the second burn of the second-stage Centaur. During ascent, one of the two Northrop Grumman GEM-63XL solid-fueled strap-on boosters experienced an anomaly - though as the overall success of the flight indicates, did not reportedly affect the overall trajectory.
