Additional Background

XCOR designed and built rocket engines and aircraft to use them in. Before wrapping-up operations it sold seats on its sub-orbital spaceplane, but flights did not begin before the company went into Chapter 7 backruptcy. In addition to its Lynx spaceplane, the company built several other rocket-powered aircraft. Before closing its doors in 2017, 2016 saw a pivot where the company stopped efforts on its Lynx spaceplane and focused on contract hydrolox engine design for ULA.
