Located on the Eyre Peninsula, on the southern coast of South Australia, Whalers Way Orbital Launch Complex provides launch facilities for both suborbital and orbital launches. The orientation on the southern coast of Australia allows for launches into Sun-Synchronous and Polar Orbits.
Southern Launch was organized in 2017, and it announced the Whalers Way Orbital Launch Complex in 2018. It was approved by the Australian government for operations in 2021. Though it has gained several commitments from several providers to launch from the spaceport, those launch services providers are taking more time than initially expected to begin launch operations. In the meantime, the site has seen TiSPACE conduct launch operations for its suborbital sounding rocket.
