History

Construction began in the 1990s, with the site becoming fully-operational in 2011. Space launch operations took place multiple times over the following give years.

In 2018 the site was dismantled as part of an agreement with international parties, due to the concurrent use of the site for ballistic missile development and testing as well. However, the following year the site began to be rebuilt, and new space launch operations began in 2023.
