Announced in 2019, a suborbital launch site exists, with some limited support structures.
Though the site itself is remote, it is within an hour's drive of both an inter-modal shipping terminal and an airport capable of handling Boeing 737-equivalent aircraft. This is especially relevant in the context of many small-lift and micro-lift launchers that make shipability of their launcher and ground-service equipment a differentiater.
Equatorial Launch Australia has previously signed agreements for future orbital launches by both US-based Phantom Space and South Korea-based Innospace. However, at this time, neither are close to first flight for their orbital launchers. French launch services provider Sirius Space also signed on for orbital launches from the site, starting as soon as 2026.
The site was announced in 2019, with construction of the initial site underway by 2022, and which point there were several NASA-operated launches of sounding rockets from the site.
