The agency operates a small fleet of communications and remote sensing satellites. There are a number of institutes, research facilities, and a control center spread across the country.
Though a civilian agency it reports through the National Command Authority, a central military authority in the country. SUPARCO ultimately played some role in both the Hatf and Abdali ballistic missile programs.
