Additional Background

New Shephard flies a straight-up and straight-down sub-orbital flight profile. The top of the trajectory allows weightlessness for its payloads. Only a few have been built, providing for Blue Origin's operational needs.

New Shephard experienced an anomaly during an un-crewed 2022 mission. This led to the loss of the booster, however, the capsule's launch escape system was triggered, avoiding the loss of the cargo. The rocket has not yet returned to flight.
