Founded in 2021, Vast has a long-term roadmap towards a large rotating space station with artificial gravity. Their largest-planned station would be nearly the size of the International Space Station - but with 3x the internal volume. They have flown a spacecraft already, to prove out some of their technology. Their next major milestone is the launch of the Haven-1, an orbital module with the ability to sustain four crew in a 80-sq m internal volume.
Funding remains private, through the personal funds of founder Jed McCaleb.
Founded in 2021, Vast formally-announced in 2022. In 2023, it acquired launch services provider Launcher. During 2023 and 2024, the focus has been on developing and preparing for the Haven-1 mission.
