Founded in 2018 as a spin-off of OHB SE, another Germany aerospace services company, Rocket Factory Augsburg has been working on a smallsat launcher. Its space tug is designed to essentially function as a third-stage for its launcher, providing the opportunity to hit many orbits, including lunar transfer orbit.
Working with partners, it has also responded to the European Space Agencies commercial cargo program with the Argo spacecraft.
