Additional Background

The space division of Lockheed Martin, even after the formation of the joint venture space launch provider with Boeing (ULA) still includes nationally-significant programs such as Orion and a participation in a contract with Blue Origin for a lunar lander (Blue Moon).

The Atlas V launcher was originally a Lockheed Martin rocket before the asset was assigned to United Launch Alliance (ULA) as part of the formation of that joint venture with Boeing.
